Wood effect vinyl wrap: sizes and material
Each pack contains one roll, of the width and length you choose: 40 or 55 cm wide, 1, 2, 3 or 5 m long. The area covered ranges from 0.4 m² for the 40 cm × 1 m roll to 2.75 m² for the 55 cm × 5 m roll. The material is vinyl (PVC) with a textured surface, meaning it is worked in relief to follow the grain. On the back is the adhesive, protected by a sheet with a printed grid that helps you mark measurements. A tip from the supplier: rolls from different batches may show slight colour differences, so buy all the metres you need at once.
How to fit the vinyl on kitchen doors
Take the doors off if you can, or at least remove the handles. Clean and degrease the surface thoroughly and let it dry: the vinyl should go on a clean, dry, smooth surface. Measure the door, transfer the measurements to the grid on the back, and cut leaving 1-2 cm extra on each side. Peel back only the first few centimetres of backing, line up the top edge and lay the vinyl down without pressing, so you can still reposition it. Once it is straight, press from the centre towards the edges with a spatula or cloth, peeling the backing off gradually. If a bubble remains, prick it with a needle and press again. Finally, trim the excess with a craft knife.
Embossed grain: the two wood effect designs
The vinyl is not smooth: the relief follows the grain, so in side light the wood pattern gains depth, as in the close-up of the roll. There are two designs. The first reproduces a light grey beige wood with bold grain, and suits modern kitchens with grey or white worktops and light floors. The second reproduces a warmer honey yellow wood, with dense, straight grain, and looks well with white tiles and light units. If you cover only part of the kitchen, for example the base units, choose the design by looking at the colour of the worktop and floor.
Where to use the wood effect vinyl: worktops, units and walls
As well as doors, the photos show the vinyl on a corner worktop and on an office wall. The supplier recommends it for smooth walls, ceramic tiles, glass, smooth wallpaper, metal, wood and plastic. It should not be applied over dusty or damaged surfaces, fresh paint or fabric. On worktops, consider daily use: do not place hot pans on it and do not cut directly on the vinyl; always use a chopping board. On shelves, bedside tables and chests of drawers fitting is easier, as the surfaces are flat and have no recessed handles.

Frequently asked questions
Which width should I choose, 40 or 55 cm?
Choose a width a little larger than the surface you want to cover, so there is margin to trim. The 40 cm roll covers doors and narrow sides of up to about 37 cm in a single piece; the 55 cm roll covers up to about 52 cm. For wider doors, such as 60 cm ones, you need two pieces placed side by side, with a join.
How many metres do I need for the doors?
Add up the heights of the doors and add about 3 cm to each for cutting. For example, 4 doors of 50 × 60 cm need 4 pieces of about 63 cm, that is about 2.5 m from a 55 cm wide roll: the 3 m roll is enough and leaves a margin in case you make a mistake.
Can I reposition it while I fit it?
Yes, as long as you do not press it down. The supplier advises laying the vinyl without flattening it, checking the alignment and, if needed, lifting it and laying it straight again. Once you are happy with the result, press firmly from the centre towards the edges to push out the air.
Can it be removed in future?
The supplier describes it as removable. To remove it, warm the adhesive with a hair dryer on a low setting and pull slowly, keeping the vinyl stuck to the surface. On untreated wood or painted walls, some paint may come away or leave residue, which usually comes off with lukewarm water and neutral soap.
How do I clean it?
Use a soft cloth that is only slightly damp, then dry the surface. Avoid abrasive scourers and solvents, which can damage the raised surface. On worktops, wipe up grease, coffee or sauce straight away, before it dries between the grain.
When will my order arrive?
Delivery takes 7 to 15 business days after payment; you receive the tracking number by email. The maximum delivery time is 15 business days: if it is not met, you can cancel the order and get a full refund.
