3D wall stickers

These 3D wall stickers go on without a drill and give depth to the wall. You will find acrylic mirrors in hexagons, circles, stars and hearts, 3D butterflies in sets of 12 or 48 pieces, mirror flowers and two trompe l’oeil landscapes.

For other designs see all the wall stickers and the flower, plant and tree wall stickers.

3D wall decals: what is in this collection

In 3D wall stickers, 3D can mean two different things. Some stickers have a real relief: the acrylic mirror pieces have their own thickness and the wings of the 3D butterflies lift away from the wall and cast a shadow. Others are flat prints with an optical effect of depth. The collection includes:

  • acrylic mirror stickers: hexagons, solid or hollow circles, stars, hearts, diamonds, triangles and squares from 15 to 35 cm per side;
  • multicoloured 3D butterflies, mirror or cut-out, also gold and silver, in sets of 12 or 48 pieces;
  • a mirror flower and a mirror lotus flower, an acrylic world map and a sticker with black butterflies among flowers and branches;
  • two trompe l’oeil landscapes: a waterfall with a valley that seems to pierce the wall and a window onto a forest landscape.

Mirror and geometric stickers: shapes, thicknesses and sizes

Mirror stickers are not made of glass: almost all the models in the collection are acrylic, which is much lighter. Among the geometric stickers you will find gold hexagons in sets of 12, honeycomb hexagons and hollow circles in sets of 24, diamonds and triangles, solid circles, stars in three sizes or in sets of 50.

On the mirror squares the thickness matters. The 1 mm ones, of 25 × 25 or 35 × 35 cm in packs of 4, bend more and need a very smooth wall; the 2 mm ones, of 15 × 15 or 20 × 20 cm, are more rigid and distort the reflection less. For a dotted effect there are 100 small mirrors of 2 cm, round or heart-shaped. To cover a larger surface there are also the stick on tiles for walls and floors.

Butterfly stickers, 3D flowers and trompe l’oeil

Butterflies are the largest group in the collection: multicoloured, mirror or cut-out sets, also of 48 gold and silver pieces. If the wings arrive flat, bend them slightly along the body to lift them off the wall. For 3D flower stickers there are the mirror flower and lotus flower and the sticker with black butterflies among the branches.

Trompe l’oeil stickers are flat prints that fool the eye: the waterfall seems to open a hole in the wall, the vinyl window looks onto a forest. In practice they are 3D adhesive wall posters, with no frame and no nails. For large 3D stickers check the sizes on the product page, or cover a wide area with the sets of 48, 50 or 100 pieces.

3D wall stickers for the living room, bedroom and bathroom

In the living room, 3D wall art stickers look good on the wall behind the sofa or above a low cabinet. Mirror hexagons and squares send the light from the window back into a dark corner; the world map also looks good above a desk. Keep the centre of the composition at eye level, about 150 cm from the floor. To add a quote there are the quote and lettering wall stickers.

In the bedroom the most common spot is above the headboard of the bed: cut-out butterflies, stars and hollow circles add movement without covering the whole wall. In the bathroom choose a wall away from the shower, for example above the washbasin; if you want to change all the walls, see the bathroom tile stickers. For the children’s room there are the children’s wall stickers.

How to apply a 3D wall sticker

You need a cloth, a tape measure and masking tape. Try out the composition before peeling off the adhesive backing:

  • clean and degrease the wall and let it dry: the adhesive holds on smooth, firmly bonded paint, not on crumbling plaster;
  • if you have just painted, wait a few weeks;
  • fix the pieces with masking tape and move the ones you are not happy with;
  • start from the centre, peel off the backing and press each piece from the centre to the edges;
  • if the mirror face has a protective film, remove it only when you have finished fitting.

How to clean mirror stickers and 3D butterflies

Acrylic scratches more easily than glass. On mirrors use a dry or barely damp microfibre cloth, without pressing. Avoid alcohol, ammonia, glass cleaners, abrasive sponges and kitchen paper: they scratch and dull acrylic.

On 3D butterflies a feather duster or a soft brush is enough, so the wings do not bend. Printed landscapes are cleaned with a damp cloth and a little mild soap.

How much 3D wall stickers cost and how many pieces you need

The price depends on the material, the size and the number of pieces in the set. To compare them, divide the price by the number of pieces or by the area the design covers. Delivery is tracked and the maximum delivery time for your country is shown on each product page before you buy, and you can return the order within 30 days.

With 4 squares of 35 × 35 cm you make a mirrored area of 70 × 70 cm; with 4 of 25 × 25 cm, one of 50 × 50 cm. For one square metre of 25 × 25 cm squares you need 16, that is, 4 packs. For butterflies, 12 pieces are enough for a group above the bed, 48 fill a long strip. To cover the whole wall consider peel and stick wallpaper or the 3D wall panels.

Frequently asked questions

Do 3D wall stickers damage the wall?

On well-bonded washable paint, normally not: they come off leaving at most some residue, which comes off with warm water and mild soap. On old, chalky or recently applied paints they can take some colour with them. To remove them, warm the adhesive with a hairdryer on low heat and pull slowly, almost parallel to the wall. If you rent, test first in a hidden corner.

What are relief stickers called?

They are usually called 3D stickers, 3D wall decals or relief wall decorations. Reflective acrylic ones are also found as adhesive mirrors or mirror stickers. Many models sold as 3D, however, are flat prints with an optical effect, like the trompe l’oeil ones. If you want a real relief, check the material on the product page, for example acrylic, or choose the butterflies with wings lifted away from the wall.

Do acrylic mirror stickers reflect like a real mirror?

They reflect light and images, but less sharply than a glass mirror. The reflection stays clean if the wall is smooth and each piece is pressed evenly; on an uneven wall the acrylic follows the dips and the image is distorted. They are intended as decoration, not to replace the bathroom mirror. For flatter squares choose the 2 mm thickness.

Can 3D stickers be fitted on tiles or furniture?

Generally yes, on smooth surfaces such as tiles, glass, lacquered wood and furniture doors, as long as they are clean, degreased and dry. On tiles, avoid placing pieces across deep grout lines, where the adhesive touches less surface. Do not fit them on raw wood, fabrics or embossed wallpaper, and keep them away from the oven, the hob and radiators.

Are there custom 3D wall stickers?

Not in this collection: each model is sold with the shapes, colours and number of pieces stated on the product page. You can, however, personalise the composition, for example by mixing mirror stars, circles and hearts or by arranging the butterflies in groups and on a diagonal. Before peeling off the backing, test the layout on the wall with masking tape and take a photo.
