You receive a single piece of PVC film, in the size you choose: 30 × 300, 40 × 300, 30 × 500 or 40 × 500 cm. These cover about 0.9, 1.2, 1.5 and 2 m² respectively. The finish is opaque, with a frosted look. The supplier does not state the thickness or the weight. Before you choose, measure the glass in centimetres: the supplier advises cutting the film slightly larger than the glass, with 2-3 mm extra on each side, and trimming the excess.

How to fit static window film

The film sticks to the glass without glue. The supplier advises cleaning the glass well with water and mild soap or with glass cleaner, using a squeegee and a lint-free cloth. Then spray water onto the glass, place the film, adjust its position and remove the bubbles with the squeegee, from the centre towards the edges. Finally, trim the excess with a sharp craft knife. The supplier's guide, written for window films in general, gives 24 to 48 hours for the film to adhere and dry fully, and asks you to avoid abrasive materials during that period.

Opaque surface: the effect on the glass

The film gives the glass an opaque, frosted look. The photos show milky panels on glass in a bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom and an office. How much you can see through depends on the light, day or night, and on the type of glass.
