Tile stickers: size and material

Each sticker measures 20 × 20 cm and covers 0.04 m². The 10 pieces in the set cover about 0.40 m²: for 1 m² you need 25 pieces, that is 3 sets. The material is printed PVC. The supplier clarifies that it is not a thick real tile but a thin adhesive; the thickness is not stated. Measurements are taken by hand and may vary by 1 to 2 cm.

How to fit tile stickers

The supplier gives a simple method: peel and stick, with no extra glue. The surface must be clean, smooth, flat and dry. To cut a sticker, for example next to sockets or corners, you need a sharp cutter. Before fixing, lay the pieces out dry and draw a level line: the design comes together if you line up the edges well.

The supplier advises against uneven surfaces, such as sanded surfaces or wallpaper. In one listing it also names surfaces to avoid: brick wall, unpainted plasterboard, orange-peel render, unsealed cement, chipboard and damaged paint. An honest tip: an adhesive can take some paint off when peeled.

Motif and colours: green, cream and beige

The design is a single one. In the centre of each sticker is a rosette with beige petals, surrounded by a frame in light green and dark green on a cream background. At the corners, parts of the motif appear that form a continuous pattern when the pieces are joined, as seen in the photos.

The tones may look a little different from the photos, because of your screen and the light. As the motif is a single design, there is no colour choice: the only decision is how many sets to order.

The photos show the motif as a strip behind a kitchen worktop, on the walls of two bathrooms and on the floor of a bathroom. The supplier lists them for bathroom, kitchen, furniture, living room and floor, and for drawers and bedside tables.

How many sets do I need for a splashback?

Each sticker covers 0.04 m² and a set of 10 pieces about 0.40 m². For a splashback 2 m long and 60 cm high, that is 1.2 m², you need 30 pieces, or 3 sets. Measure the area, divide the square metres by 0.04 and add a few pieces for cuts.

Which surfaces should they not be applied to?

The supplier advises against brick walls, unpainted plasterboard, orange-peel render, unsealed cement, chipboard or damaged paint, and against uneven surfaces such as sanded finishes or wallpaper. They suit flat, smooth, clean and dry backgrounds.

How do I cut them?

With a sharp cutter and a metal ruler, resting the sticker on a surface you do not mind marking. Cut calmly and use a new blade: it is needed in rows next to sockets, corners and furniture. Mark the line in pencil first.

Does the motif continue from one sticker to the next?

Yes: the pieces have the same design and, placed side by side, they form a continuous motif, as in the photos. The measurements have a tolerance of 1 to 2 cm, however, so some joins may not line up perfectly. Lay the pieces dry before fixing them.

Can they be removed without damaging the surface?

The adhesive is made to stay. When peeled, it can take some paint with it or leave residue, especially on walls painted recently. We have no data on removal: if in doubt, test one piece in a discreet spot.
