Self-adhesive 3D wall panels: size and material

Each sheet measures 30 × 30 cm and is 3 mm thick. The material is PVC; the supplier text also mentions EVA. Each sheet has 16 strips, in two rows of 8, each measuring 3.3 × 14.3 cm, separated by joints that create the mosaic effect. With 5 sheets you cover about 0.45 m² and with 10 sheets about 0.9 m²: these are theoretical values, with no spare and no overlaps. For a larger surface you can order more sets of the same colour.

How to fit self-adhesive 3D panels

The supplier gives four steps: clean, remove the paper from the back, stick and press. The photo shows a sheet held against the wall with one hand: work one sheet at a time, starting from a level guide line. Cut the sheets with scissors or a utility knife. The suitable surfaces are smooth painted wall, smooth ceramic tile, glass, acrylic panel, metal and wood; unpainted plaster, orange peel walls, brick, stone, stucco and greasy walls are not suitable. The grip is complete after about 48 hours, and after 24 hours it is advisable to press the joints again. During the first two or three days there may be a faint smell of gel. To remove them, warm the glue with a hairdryer and peel slowly from the corners.

Four colours in strips

The colours are green, sapphire blue, apricot grey and pink. In the photos the green is intense with darker shades, the sapphire blue is deep, the pink is light and the apricot grey is a very pale grey-beige. The pattern is the same in every colour: only the tone changes. If you are unsure, choose the colour closest to your wall and furniture by looking at the photo of the single sheet. The supplier warns that the real colour may differ from the photo because of the light and the camera. Each set contains sheets of the same colour, in 5 or 10 pieces: for a multi-colour arrangement, order several sets.

Where to use self-adhesive 3D wall panels

The supplier suggests them for walls and for kitchen and bathroom splashbacks, as well as tiles and furniture. The photos show the wall of a living room and a bathroom wall. The warnings from the supplier apply: not in the shower, not outdoors, not on floors, and 30 cm from hobs and fireplaces.

We do not claim that they resist water or heat, because we have no verifiable data. For the strip closest to the hob, consider another option. The living room, bedroom and hallway are among the rooms the supplier lists.

How many sheets do I need for a splashback?

One sheet covers about 0.09 m². For a splashback 60 cm high and 2 m long, that is 1.2 m², you need about 14 sheets: one set of 10 and one of 5, which leaves one sheet spare for cuts. Measure carefully and allow for the space around sockets and shelves.

Can I put them near the hob?

The supplier advises keeping the sheets 30 cm from hobs and fireplaces when they are used for long periods. For that reason we do not recommend fitting them right beside the hobs. The supplier gives no maximum temperature, so we cannot give you a safe limit.

Can they be used in the shower or on the floor?

No. The supplier states that the sheets are not suitable for showers, outdoors or floors. They are designed for interior walls and splashbacks, on flat, clean surfaces. The supplier gives no water resistance tests, so we cannot guarantee it in very damp conditions.

Can they be removed without damaging the wall?

The supplier advises warming the glue with a hairdryer or heat gun and peeling slowly from the corners. There is still a risk that a strong adhesive takes some paint with it, especially on walls painted recently: test a piece in a hidden spot.

When will my order arrive?
