Roll of yellow oak effect adhesive vinyl resting on a kitchen worktop

Oak effect vinyl wrap: sizes and material

Each item is one roll of vinyl (PVC) that reproduces oak grain. It is not real wood: it is an adhesive covering with a wood effect. There are three widths: 30, 40 and 55 cm. The lengths are 1, 3 and 5 m for the 30 and 55 cm widths, and 1, 2, 3 and 5 m for the 40 cm width. The area covered is worked out by multiplying width by length: a 40 × 300 cm roll covers 1.2 m². The surface is textured, that is, with a slight relief. In one supplier photo, a micrometer reads a thickness of 0.35 mm.

How to fit the oak effect vinyl on furniture and doors

Choose a surface that is smooth, clean and dry. The supplier lists as suitable smooth walls, tiles, windows, smooth wallpaper, metal, wood and plastic, and advises against dusty or cracked surfaces, water-based paint that is still wet, and fabric. Cut the vinyl a little larger than the surface, remove the backing from one corner and lay it without pressing: while you do not press, you can still reposition it. Once the position is good, press, pushing the air outwards; any bubble that remains is pricked with a needle. An honest tip: an adhesive can damage the paint when you peel it off, so test first in a hidden spot.

Kitchen with doors and tall units in a light, warm wood effect

Yellow or grey oak effect: choose your finish

The yellow oak effect has a light, warm, golden wood tone. The grey oak effect has a cooler grey tone. In the photos the grain runs along the roll: decide the direction before you cut. The real colour may differ a little from the photos, because of the light and the screen. Each roll is one colour only: if you want to combine both shades, order two different rolls.

Where to use the wood effect vinyl wrap

The supplier's photos show kitchen doors and tall units in yellow and grey oak effect, an office with built-in furniture and, in grey oak, a living room wall and a wall seen through an arch. For doors, measure each panel first and choose the width that leaves you the fewest joins; for a worktop or a shelf, narrow rolls are enough. The supplier does not state heat or moisture resistance, so keep it away from hobs and other heat sources.

Frequently asked questions

Which roll sizes can I choose?

The widths are 30, 40 and 55 cm. With 30 and 55 cm the lengths are 1, 3 and 5 m; with 40 cm they are 1, 2, 3 and 5 m. To work out the area, multiply width by length: 55 × 100 cm covers 0.55 m² and 30 × 500 cm covers 1.5 m². Add a few centimetres of margin for cutting.

How do yellow oak effect and grey oak effect differ?

Yellow oak effect is a light, warm wood effect; grey oak effect has a cooler grey tone. They are two versions of the same product, in the same sizes. The real colour may change a little from the photos, because of the light and the screen.

Can it be applied to a door or painted furniture?

The supplier recommends it for smooth, clean and dry surfaces and advises against water-based paint that is still wet. On a painted surface, test first in a hidden spot: an adhesive can take some paint off when you peel it. Clean well and remove dust and grease before fitting.

What is the thickness of the vinyl?

The supplier does not write the thickness in the description. One photo, however, shows a micrometer reading 0.35 mm on a light-coloured roll. Treat this value as a guide, not a guarantee: a thin vinyl follows the surface but can show the flaws of the base, so smooth the surface well before fitting.

How do I cut it and how do I avoid bubbles?

Cut it with scissors or a craft knife, a little larger than the surface, then trim the excess. Peel back the protection little by little from one corner and lay the vinyl without pressing. Then press, pushing the air outwards. If a bubble remains, the supplier advises pricking it with a needle.

When will my order arrive?

Delivery takes 7 to 15 business days after payment; you receive the tracking number by email. The maximum delivery time is 15 business days: if it is not met, you can cancel the order and get a full refund.

Can I return the product?

Yes: you have 30 days from delivery to return the unused product in its original packaging. Return shipping costs are paid by the customer. All the details are in the return policy.

How can I pay?

You pay the full amount when you order, with the payment methods offered at checkout. We do not offer instalments or cash on delivery.
