Matt furniture vinyl wrap in a roll: size and material
Each order contains a single roll, in the width and length you choose. At 40 cm wide there are rolls of 1, 3 and 5 m, which is 0.40, 1.20 and 2.00 m²; at 55 cm there are those of 2 and 5 m, which is 1.10 and 2.75 m². The material is vinyl (PVC), with a matt finish and a single colour over the whole surface. The back is white and adhesive, covered by a paper that is peeled off at the moment of fitting. The supplier does not state the thickness. Measure the surface carefully before choosing the roll: the width must cover the height of the door or the worktop.
How to apply furniture vinyl wrap
The supplier specifies a smooth, clean, dry surface. Place the vinyl without pressing: that way you can still lift it and reposition it. When the position is right, press, pushing the air bubbles towards the edges; if any remain, prick them with a needle. In the supplier’s photos the suitable surfaces are smooth walls, ceramic tiles, windows, smooth wallpaper, metal, wood and plastic. The following are not suitable:
- dusty surfaces;
- broken or damaged surfaces;
- emulsion paint that is still wet;
- fabric.
A tip: cut the vinyl a couple of centimetres larger than the door and trim it after fitting. A strong adhesive can take some paint with it when peeled off.
Three greens, two greys, black or orange: matt vinyl colours
The colour is even, with no pattern. The photos show sage green, a dark green close to bottle green, a mint-type light green, a light grey, a dark grey and black. The supplier lists orange as a matt finish, but it has no photo in the gallery, so we cannot show you the exact shade. The real colour may be slightly different from the photos, because of the light and your screen. If you cover several doors or several pieces, take everything from the same roll or the same order: a plain colour shows up any slight difference in shade.
Where to use furniture vinyl wrap
The photos show chests of drawers, sideboards, kitchen units, the top of a desk and walls covered with the vinyl. The supplier lists it for the living room, bedroom, study, kitchen and children’s room. You can use it to renew a piece of furniture or to give colour to a smooth wall, as long as the surface is one of those listed. In the kitchen, keep it more than 15 cm from open flames, as the supplier warns: leave, therefore, a distance from the hob. The supplier gives no data on how it behaves with heat.

Frequently asked questions
How much vinyl should I order for a door or a worktop?
Measure the width and height of the surface and choose a roll whose width, 40 or 55 cm, covers the shorter side with a margin of a couple of centimetres. Then choose the length: a 1 m roll covers 0.40 m² if it is 40 cm wide. If you have to cover several pieces, add up the lengths you need.
Can it be repositioned after applying it?
The supplier says to place the vinyl without pressing: as long as you do not press, you can lift it and reposition it. When the position is right, press, pushing the air bubbles towards the edges. Once pressed, the adhesive grips firmly and may take some paint with it if you peel it off.
How do I remove air bubbles?
Press the vinyl from the centre towards the edges, with a soft squeegee or a cloth, to push the air out. If a bubble remains, the supplier advises pricking it with a needle. Apply the vinyl to a very clean, dry surface to avoid imperfections.
Which surfaces should it not be applied to?
According to the supplier’s photos, it is not suitable for dusty, broken or damaged surfaces, still-wet emulsion paint or fabrics. It works well on smooth walls, ceramic tiles, windows, smooth wallpaper, metal, wood and plastic, after cleaning and drying the surface.
Can it be used near the hob?
The supplier warns that it must be kept more than 15 cm from open flames and gives no data on how it behaves with heat. In the kitchen it is therefore advisable to apply it away from the hob, for example on the doors of the units under the worktop or on a wall away from the flames.
