Foam acoustic corner panel: size and material

Each panel is a block of foam with a triangular base: the two sides that rest against the walls measure 30 cm, the visible side 42 cm and the height 50 cm. In the photos the foam looks black, almost anthracite grey, with rounded vertical grooves on the surface. The variant states a medium density, with no value in kg/m³. One pack contains 2 identical pieces, so it covers two corners. To cover more corners, you can order more packs. The supplier does not state the weight.

How to fit acoustic corner panels

The panels arrive compressed in a vacuum pack: the supplier's dimensioned drawing warns that they need time to recover the stated size. If they arrive creased, let them air for a couple of days, as the supplier suggests. To fit them, place the two 30 cm sides against the walls, as in the drawing, with the 42 cm side facing into the room. The supplier does not mention adhesives. If you want to fix them, use a glue suitable for foam or double-sided tape on a clean, dry wall. An honest tip: a strong adhesive can take some paint with it when peeled off.

One model, in a large format

There are no colour or quantity options: the model is black, of medium density, in a 30 × 30 × 50 cm format. In the supplier's photos the panel is shown from several sides, always next to a smaller model, so you can see how large it is. At 50 cm high, each piece covers only part of the corner. If you want to cover a greater height, you will need more pieces and therefore more packs.

Where to use acoustic corner panels

Corner panels are fitted where two walls meet, in rooms with many hard surfaces such as floors, glass and smooth walls: living rooms, home offices or meeting rooms. In spaces like these, sound bounces around and creates echo, and the foam absorbs some of it. An important point: an acoustic material reduces echo inside the room, but it does not stop noise coming from outside, such as from the street or the neighbours. That calls for other solutions.

One pack contains 2 panels, each 50 cm high. Use one per corner: if you want to cover more corners, order more packs. The supplier does not state how many panels a room needs, as this depends on its shape and size, so measure the corners you want to cover before ordering.

Why do they arrive compressed, and how do they regain their shape?

They are large, so the supplier packs them compressed and vacuum-packed: they may arrive out of shape or creased. Open them as soon as you receive them and let them air for a couple of days, as the supplier advises. The dimensioned drawing states that they need time to recover the stated size. If after a few days a part is still flattened or out of shape, get in touch and we will look into it together.

How are they fixed to the wall?

Do they stop noise from outside?
