Nursery wall stickers: what is in this collection

Some of these nursery wall stickers are sets of dozens or hundreds of pieces, others a single sticker, like the panda in the tree. There are 22 designs in total, divided into five groups:

  • animals: cartoon-style savannah, jungle, forest animals, forest set, panda in the tree, 10 cats, lion, fox and rabbit with a balloon, hot air balloons with a bear and bunnies, elephant or rabbits with flowers in watercolour style;
  • glow-in-the-dark moon, stars and planets, in sets of 103, 525 or 849 pieces, plus a stars-only design for the ceiling and bedroom;
  • height charts for measuring height: with a giraffe, dinosaur or unicorn to choose from, a 180 cm one with fantasy animals, one with a pink bunny in a set of 2 pieces;
  • hearts and rainbows: 60 soft pink hearts, boho-style hearts, a rainbow with a unicorn and a phrase in English;
  • rigid pieces: 20 acrylic mirror stars and 13 wooden pieces with hot air balloons, clouds and stars. You will find other reflective shapes among the 3D and mirror wall stickers.

Animal wall stickers for nursery: forest, jungle, cats and bears

If you are looking for wall stickers with forest animals, there are two sets: bear, deer and rabbit, or the forest animals in vinyl. The panda climbing the tree is also suitable for the living room.

If you are looking for stickers with cats or kittens, you will find 10 cartoon cats with a text in English. The bear appears in two designs: in the forest set and in the hot air balloons with bunnies set. The dinosaur is only available as a variant of the wall height chart; there is no football or fish design, though. If you want a quote alongside the drawings, see the quote and lettering wall stickers.

Space wall stickers: glow-in-the-dark stars, moon and planets

Four designs glow in the dark: moon and stars (103 pieces), stars for the ceiling and bedroom, 9 planets (525 pieces), stars with planets (849 pieces). They charge up in daylight or under a lamp and give off a faint light in the dark, which fades gradually.

The most commonly used spot is the ceiling above the bed, which the child sees when lying down. A simple idea: the planets on one wall, the stars spread across the ceiling, closer together in the centre. The ceiling must be smooth, because on rough plaster the adhesive grips poorly. To change the look of the whole ceiling, there are the decorative ceiling panels.

How to choose children’s wall stickers for a baby, a girl or a boy

Among the stickers for a baby’s bedroom, three designs are suitable for this age: elephant with flowers and rabbits with flowers in watercolour style, and boho-style hearts. In the baby’s room, stick them away from the cot and the changing table, where little hands cannot reach: small pieces must not end up in the mouth.

No theme is reserved for a girl or a boy. If you are looking for stickers for a girl’s bedroom, you can start from the soft pink hearts, the height chart with the pink bunny or the rainbow with the unicorn; for a boy, from space, the jungle or the height chart with the dinosaur. To match the wardrobe and chest of drawers as well, there is the furniture vinyl wrap.

How to apply the stickers in a children’s bedroom

Before removing the backing paper, try out the layout: fix the pieces to the wall with masking tape and look at them from a distance. For the wall height charts, check which number the printed scale starts from and measure from the floor. Then:

  • clean the wall with a barely damp cloth and let it dry; if it was painted recently, wait a few weeks;
  • peel off the backing paper a little at a time, not all at once;
  • press from the centre to the edges with your fingers or a plastic card, to push out the air;
  • if there is a transfer film, remove it slowly, keeping it almost parallel to the wall;
  • the acrylic stars and the wooden pieces are rigid: hold them pressed for a few seconds on a very smooth spot.

How to remove and clean them

The soft pink hearts and the jungle are described as removable, the rabbits with flowers as reusable. The others peel off slowly from a corner, pulling almost parallel to the wall; if the adhesive resists, warm it with a hairdryer on a low setting. On delicate paint some colour may come off: test first with a small piece.

To clean them, a soft, barely damp cloth is enough, without harsh detergents or abrasive sponges. Do not rub the edges, which are the first to lift. For the mirror stars use a dry microfibre cloth, which leaves no marks.

What they cost and how many pieces you need

The price changes with the number of pieces and the size of each design. To compare them, divide the price by the number of pieces or by the area it covers. Delivery is tracked, the maximum delivery time for your country is shown on each product page before you buy, and you can return your order within 30 days. If you put several designs in the same order, you reach that amount sooner.

To fill a whole ceiling, a large set of 525 or 849 pieces is more suitable; the 103-piece one works well for the area above the bed. For a wall with animals, one set is normally enough, with the largest design in the centre. To cover the whole wall there is self-adhesive wallpaper; to divide the wall at mid-height, with the animals above, there are self-adhesive decorative mouldings.

Frequently asked questions

Which walls can you stick the children’s bedroom stickers on?

On smooth, dry walls with a firm paint, and on the ceiling if it is just as smooth. They work badly on rough plaster, damp walls, paint that crumbles to the touch and embossed wallpaper. If you are unsure, stick a small piece in a hidden spot, wait a day and check that the edges have not lifted.

How long do the glow-in-the-dark stars shine in the dark?

It depends on the light they have received. They glow brightest in the first minutes after the lamp is switched off and then fade gradually. If the room stays dark during the day, leave the light on for a while before going to sleep: the stars recharge every time they are lit, without batteries and without electricity, and the cycle repeats every night.

At what height should you stick the height chart to measure children?

Look at the lowest number printed on the chart. If the scale starts at zero, the bottom edge rests on the floor; if it starts at a higher value, measure that distance from the floor with a tape measure and make a pencil mark. With a tall skirting board, always measure from the floor, not from the skirting board, and use a spirit level to keep the chart straight.

Can children’s stickers be peeled off and stuck back on?

It depends on the design. The 60 soft pink hearts and the jungle are described as removable, the rabbits with flowers as reusable. The others can be removed, but after the first peel the adhesive usually grips less. If you need to move one, peel it off slowly from a corner and stick it back straight away on a clean, dry wall, without touching the adhesive side with your fingers.

Are they also suitable for a nursery school or a playroom?

Yes, five designs are also suitable for a nursery school: lion, fox and rabbit with a balloon, the jungle, the forest, the hot air balloons with a bear and the soft pink hearts. The wooden set with hot air balloons, clouds and stars is also designed for the playroom. Where there are many children, put them up high, above hand height, so the edges stay intact for longer.
