Each tile measures 30 × 30 cm and covers about 0.09 m². A pack of 10 pieces therefore covers about 0.9 m², one of 20 about 1.8 m² and one of 40 about 3.6 m². All the pieces in a pack have the same design. The material given by the supplier is plastic and PET, and the surface in the photos is glossy. The supplier does not give the thickness. The back is self-adhesive and appears silver in the photos. For a splashback 2 m by 0.6 m (1.2 m²) you need about 14 tiles: it is best to choose the pack of 20.

How to fit the self-adhesive kitchen splashback

The supplier describes fitting in a few steps: remove the protective film from the back and press the tile onto a clean surface free of dust, such as wood, glass or a wall. Before you start, clean and dry well, draw a level line and begin in the centre so the joints stay aligned. The tiles are cut with scissors, as the supplier's photos show: this is useful for the last row or to go around a socket. An honest tip: a strong adhesive can take some paint off when peeled. The supplier does not say how long the adhesive lasts.

Seven colours: from white to black

There are seven colours. White is a light marble with grey veins, black a dark marble with white veins, and grey a dark grey with lighter veins. Beige is cream with gold and brown veins, and gold is a light yellow with veining. Grey and gold is a blue-grey with gold veins, and grey and white is a white with grey and gold veins. The real colour may differ from the photos, because of light and screen. If you use several packs, choose the same colour for all of them.

The listing mentions smooth, flat surfaces: kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, living room, laundry, hallway, furniture and worktops. Behind the hobs, keep the tiles away from flames and strong heat sources: the supplier does not state heat resistance. In the bathroom, apply them to a dry surface, away from direct splashes. Each tile covers about 0.09 m² (30 × 30 cm). Multiply the width by the height of the area and divide by 0.09: for 2 m by 0.6 m (1.2 m²) you need about 14 pieces, so the pack of 20. Add a few pieces for cuts around sockets and shelves.

Can they go near the hobs?

The supplier does not state the heat resistance of the product, so keep the tiles away from flames and strong heat sources. Leave a clear strip behind the hobs and apply the tiles only where the heat is not strong. If in doubt, choose a material made for that use.

Can they be cut?

Yes, with scissors, as the supplier's photos show. Mark the measurement, cut slowly with sharp blades, and work on a flat surface. For sockets and shelves, cut one test tile first and then cut the others to the same measurement.

Are all the tiles in a pack the same?
