Double-sided foam tape: size and material

Each item is a set of black foam pads, 3 mm thick. The squares measure 30 × 30, 40 × 40 or 50 × 50 mm, in sets of 10. The rounds have a diameter of 30, 40 or 50 mm, also in sets of 10. The strips measure 150 mm long and 10, 15, 20, 30 or 50 mm wide, in sets of 5. The material is foam with adhesive on both faces; the supplier does not specify the type of foam. The white protective paper has repeated printed wording, visible in the photos. The weight is not stated.

How to fit the double-sided tape pads

Clean and dry the surface. Then peel off the paper on one side, stick the pad to the object and press; the supplier says to wait about 30 minutes. Next, remove the other paper and press the object against the surface, and wait 2 to 4 hours before using it.

The supplier shows marble, smooth wood, glass, plastic and metal as suitable surfaces, and rough or wet surfaces, damaged walls, wallpaper and painted walls as unsuitable. A practical tip: if you peel it off a painted wall, some paint may come away.

Square, round or strip double-sided tape: choosing the right shape

The eleven variants change shape and size, and the photos show each format with its dimensions: round 30, 40 and 50 mm, square 30, 40 and 50 mm, and strips 10 to 50 mm wide. As a general rule, a larger adhesive surface grips more but shows more on the back of the object. The 150 mm strips suit straight edges, and the rounds suit round objects. The 3 mm thickness is the same in all of them and leaves the object slightly away from the surface. The colour is always black.

Where to use double-sided foam tape

The supplier presents them for fixing objects to smooth surfaces without drilling, for example bathroom accessories, frames and small decorations. Use them on clean, dry surfaces, as indicated, and not on rough, wet or painted walls. The supplier does not state the weight they hold: for a heavy object, or one that could cause harm if it fell, do not rely on this double-sided tape alone. They are not presented as an accessory for acoustic panels: if you want to fix a panel, check the weight first and test a corner that is not very visible. Each set contains 10 pieces or 5 strips: before you fix the object, decide at how many points you will place them.
