Copper 3D self-adhesive moulding fitted on a white wall as a frame, with a corner cut at 45°

Self-adhesive 3D moulding: dimensions and material

Each unit is a 10 m roll in the colour you choose. The strip is 8 cm wide and 4 mm thick; the supplier gives a tolerance of 1-3 cm, because the measurements are taken by hand. The material is XPE foam, that is expanded polyethylene: soft, flexible and light, with the raised decoration on the visible face. With one roll you can make the skirting board of a room measuring 2 × 3 m, leaving out the door, or two rectangular frames of 1 × 1.2 m. For longer runs you can use more rolls: the supplier says the moulding can be cut and joined.

How to apply self-adhesive moulding

Clean the surface and let it dry, measure the run and cut the moulding with scissors or a craft knife. Then peel off the white film on the back and press the strip against the wall bit by bit, without stretching it. For the corners of a frame, mark a point 8 cm from the end, the same as the width of the moulding, and cut on the diagonal: the cut comes out at 45°, and two pieces cut this way join at a right angle, as in one of the photos.

  • Suitable surfaces: painted walls, cement, tiles, wood, glass, steel and plastic, as long as they are smooth, dry, clean and firm.
  • Surfaces to avoid: damp walls, dusty walls, walls that crumble or are uneven, such as exposed brick.

Five colours for the 3D decorative moulding

The decoration is the same in every colour: an ornamental raised motif enclosed by two smooth fillets, which creates light shadows when lit from the side. White blends into the wall and gives a stucco effect; ivory white is warmer, with faint veining. Gold and copper are warm tones that stand out on light walls: in one photo the copper follows the top edge of a white brick-effect cladding. Silver grey is a light, sober grey that goes well with modern furniture. The real colour may vary a little from the photos, depending on light and screen.

Where to use self-adhesive moulding: skirting boards, frames and boiserie

The moulding is used as a decorative skirting board, as in one of the photos, or as a horizontal band halfway up a wall, or to frame doors, windows, mirrors and pictures. With four pieces cut at 45°, you draw panels on the wall and get a boiserie effect without any building work; if you like, you can paint the inside of the panels in another colour. The supplier also recommends it for the wall behind the television, staircases, furniture and ceilings. In the bathroom and kitchen, avoid areas where water splashes or stands, such as the shower and the splashback: constant moisture can weaken the adhesive. Remember that it is foam: as a skirting board it decorates, but knocks can leave marks.

Frequently asked questions

How many rolls do I need?

Measure in metres the run you want to decorate, divide it by 10 and round up. For frames, count the perimeter of each panel: a 60 × 90 cm panel needs 3 m of moulding, so one roll makes three. Allow a margin for the 45° cuts and for the supplier's stated tolerance.

Can it be removed without damaging the wall?

The adhesive is made to stay put. When you remove it, it may take some paint with it or leave residue, especially on walls painted recently. Before you apply it, test a small offcut in a hidden spot to see how it behaves on your wall.

Is it suitable for tiles and furniture?

Yes, if the surface is smooth and firm: tiles, wood, glass, steel, plastic and painted walls. It is not suitable for damp walls, dusty walls, walls that crumble or are very uneven, such as exposed brick, where the adhesive does not have enough surface to grip.

How are two pieces joined?

Cut both ends straight and press them together with no gap. If you can, match the decorative pattern, as the join is then less visible. It is best to place joins where they are less visible, for example behind a piece of furniture or near a corner.

How do you clean it?

With a soft, slightly damp cloth, wiped along the length of the strip and without rubbing hard over the raised pattern. Avoid solvents, alcohol and harsh detergents, which can damage the coloured surface. For dust that collects between the raised parts, a soft, dry brush also works.

When will my order arrive?

Delivery takes 7 to 15 business days after payment; you receive the tracking number by email. The maximum delivery time is 15 business days: if it is not met, you can cancel the order and get a full refund.

Can I return the product?

Yes: you have 30 days from delivery to return the unused product in its original packaging. Return shipping costs are paid by the customer. All the details are in the return policy.

How can I pay?

You pay the full amount when you order, with the payment methods offered at checkout. We do not offer instalments or cash on delivery.
