White square panels with a stack and a beige adhesive film coming off, on a white background

Square self-adhesive acoustic panel: size and material

The pack contains 12 square panels, all in the colour you choose. Each panel measures 30 × 30 cm, that is, 0.09 m², and the 12 pieces cover about 1.08 m² of wall: enough for an arrangement behind a desk or above a bed headboard. The material is polyester fibre, with a felt-look surface.

The size is the same in all four colours. For larger areas you can order more packs: for example, 2 m² needs about 23 panels, that is, 2 packs. To work out how many panels you need, multiply the width by the height of the wall and divide the result by 0.09.

How to fit self-adhesive acoustic panels

The back of each panel has a layer of adhesive protected by a film. Peel off the film and press the panel firmly onto the wall over its whole surface. Before you start, clean and dry the wall: the adhesive grips better on smooth surfaces, free of dust and moisture. To keep the squares straight, draw a line in pencil with a spirit level and place the panels side by side, starting from a corner or from the centre of the arrangement.

An honest tip: the adhesive can take some paint with it when peeled off. If you plan to move them, stick them first onto a thin board and fix the board to the wall. To cut them, use a sharp craft knife and a metal ruler.

White, silver grey, dark camel or black: choose your colour

All the panels have the same square shape and the same surface: only the colour changes. White and silver grey look light. Dark camel appears in the supplier's photos as a beige leaning towards light brown. Black is dark and even. The real colour may look different on screen and in your room's light.

Each pack contains 12 panels in the same colour. For a multi-colour arrangement, such as a chessboard pattern, you need several packs, one per colour. If you are unsure about the shade, think about the colour of the wall: a light panel on a light wall gives an even look, while a dark panel on a light wall stands out more.

Where to use self-adhesive acoustic panels

In a room with many hard surfaces, such as floors, glass and smooth walls, voices bounce around and create echo. Polyester fibre panels absorb some of these reflections and reduce echo, which is why they are placed behind the desk in a home office, above a bed headboard or behind a sofa. They are also a decorative feature for a bare wall, which can be arranged in rows, in a chessboard pattern or in other designs.

An important point: an acoustic panel reduces echo inside the room, but it does not stop noise from neighbours or from the street. That requires other materials and building work.

Frequently asked questions

How many panels do I need for my wall?

One panel covers 0.09 m², and a pack of 12 covers about 1.08 m². Measure the width and height of the wall, multiply them, and divide the result by 0.09. For a 2 m² arrangement you need about 23 panels, that is, 2 packs. You do not have to cover the whole wall: you can limit the panels to the area you want.

Do they stop noise from the neighbours?

No. They are acoustic panels: they reduce echo inside the room, but they do not stop noise coming from outside, such as neighbours' voices or traffic. Reducing noise that passes through a wall requires other materials and building work, which is worth discussing with a specialist.

Can they be cut?

Yes, polyester fibre can be cut with a sharp craft knife and a metal ruler. This may be needed for the last row next to corners, sockets or the ceiling. Cut on a surface you do not mind damaging, and keep your fingers away from the blade.

Can they be removed without damaging the wall?

We cannot guarantee it. The adhesive may take some paint with it or leave residue, especially on walls painted recently. If you want to be able to move them, stick them onto a thin board and fix that board to the wall. Before fitting them all, test one panel in a less visible spot.

How do I clean them?

Use a vacuum cleaner on a low setting with a soft brush, or a dry cloth, going over the surface without pressing too hard. It is best to avoid water and detergents on the surface, as the supplier gives no cleaning instructions. This is general advice and not a product guarantee.

When will my order arrive?

Delivery takes 7 to 15 business days after payment; you receive the tracking number by email. The maximum delivery time is 15 business days: if it is not met, you can cancel the order and get a full refund.

Can I return the product?

Yes: you have 30 days from delivery to return the unused product in its original packaging. Return shipping costs are paid by the customer. All the details are in the return policy.
