Grey Y-cut hexagonal acoustic panel with a 3D cube effect on a white background

Hexagonal acoustic panel: size and material

The pack contains 12 identical panels, in the model and colour you choose. Each hexagon measures 30 cm point to point and 26 cm side to side, with a side of 15 cm and a thickness of 1 cm. The material is high-density polyester fibre, about 150 kg/m³ according to the supplier. Placed side by side, the 12 panels cover about 0.70 m² of wall: enough for an arrangement behind a desk or above a bed headboard. For larger areas, you can order more packs in the same colour.

How to fit hexagonal self-adhesive acoustic panels

The back of each panel has a layer of adhesive protected by a film. Fitting takes three steps: open the pack, peel off the film and press the panel firmly onto the wall over its whole surface. No glue, double-sided tape or screws are needed. Before you start, clean and dry the wall: the adhesive grips better on smooth surfaces, free of dust and moisture. To keep the hexagons aligned, draw a pencil line with a spirit level and start from the centre of the arrangement. An honest tip: a strong adhesive can take some paint with it when peeled off. If you plan to move them, stick them first onto a thin board and fix that board to the wall.

White Y-cut hexagonal acoustic panels on a white background

Plain or Y-cut hexagonal acoustic panel: choose the look

The plain model has an even surface and creates a clean mosaic, suited to modern and minimalist walls. The Y-cut model is divided into three faces by Y-shaped grooves: together with the bevelled edge, it resembles a 3D cube, and with side lighting it casts different shadows during the day. You can also mix colours, for example grey and white on a light wall, or black on a dark wall for a bolder look. Each pack contains 12 panels in the same colour: for a two-colour arrangement, you need two packs.

Where to use hexagonal acoustic panels: bedroom, living room and home office

In a room with many hard surfaces, such as floors, glass and smooth walls, voices bounce around and create echo. Polyester fibre panels absorb some of these reflections and reduce echo, which is why they are placed behind the home office desk, above a bed headboard or behind a sofa. They are also decorative: the white Y-cut panel, for example, adds relief to a light wall without changing its colour. An important point: an acoustic panel reduces echo inside the room, but it does not stop noise from neighbours or from the street. If your problem is noise coming from outside, read our guide on the difference between absorbing sound and stopping noise.

Frequently asked questions

How many panels do I need for a wall?

One hexagon covers about 0.058 m², and a pack of 12 covers about 0.70 m². For a 1.5 m² arrangement you need about 26 panels, that is, 3 packs. You do not have to cover the whole wall: you can create an arrangement only in the area you want.

Can they be removed without damaging the wall?

The adhesive is designed to stay put. When peeled off, it can take some paint with it or leave residue, especially on walls painted recently. If you want to be able to move them, stick them onto a thin board and fix that board to the wall with screws or double-sided tape.

Do they stop noise from the neighbours?

No. They are acoustic panels: they reduce echo inside the room, but they do not stop noise coming from outside. Reducing noise through a wall requires other materials and building work, such as a dry lining system, which is worth discussing with a specialist.

Can they be cut?

Yes, polyester fibre can be trimmed with a sharp craft knife and a metal ruler. This is useful for the last row next to corners, sockets or the ceiling. Cut with the film still on, and make several light passes rather than one.

How do I clean them?

Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush, without pressing, or a dry cloth. It is best to avoid water and detergents on the surface: the fibre absorbs them and water marks may remain. To keep the panels in good condition, simply remove dust from time to time.

When will my order arrive?

Delivery takes 7 to 15 business days after payment; you receive the tracking number by email. The maximum delivery time is 15 business days: if it is not met, you can cancel the order and get a full refund.

Can I return the product?

Yes: you have 30 days from delivery to return the unused product in its original packaging. Return shipping costs are paid by the customer. All the details are in the return policy.

How can I pay?

You pay the full amount when you order, with the payment methods offered at checkout. We do not offer instalments or cash on delivery.
