Self-adhesive wood effect moulding: size and material
Each pack contains one roll, 20 cm wide and 5 m long, as the photos also show. Fully unrolled, it covers 1 m². The material stated by the supplier is PVC, with a self-adhesive back protected by a white grid-printed liner, which serves as a guide for cutting straight. For a door frame measuring 80 × 210 cm, two uprights and a head add up to exactly 5 metres on one side: the whole roll, with no margin for trimming or for 45° mitres at the corners. For one side, therefore, order two rolls, and for both sides, three.
How to apply the self-adhesive moulding to the frame
Clean and degrease the frame and let it dry: the adhesive grips better on smooth, dust-free wood or smooth lacquered surfaces. Measure each piece and cut it with a craft knife and a metal ruler, following the grid on the liner. Do not remove all the liner at once: free a few centimetres, place the moulding in the correct position and keep smoothing it out with your hand from the centre towards the sides, to push out the air. As in the photo, the strip can cover the face of the frame and fold over the thickness of the frame; if there is excess, trim it at the edge with the craft knife. Note that on a surface that was recently varnished, a PVC adhesive can take some varnish with it when peeled off.
The five wood effect shades
The shades are five: grey, brown, white, black and yellow wood effect. In the photos, grey has a light grain on a medium grey background, brown is a greyish-brown wood-effect tone, black shows a dark grain with slight relief, and yellow is a light, warm wood-effect tone. White looks almost plain and even in the images, with the grain barely visible. It is not real wood: it is PVC with a pattern that imitates the grain. Light shades go with white or lacquered doors; black and brown give more contrast. The yellow spatula visible beside the roll is not included in the pack.
Where to use the self-adhesive wood effect moulding
The supplier recommends it for door frames and shows it also on a windowsill, on cupboard doors, on a desk and on kitchen furniture. It is useful for refreshing a worn frame, or for matching the colour of a new door without repainting. On an interior windowsill or a shelf up to 20 cm deep, one piece covers the whole depth. It works best on flat, smooth surfaces: on mouldings and carved details more patience is needed. Avoid areas close to heat sources and areas that are always wet, where the edges of any self-adhesive vinyl can lift.

Frequently asked questions
Can it be cut into narrower strips?
Yes. With a sharp craft knife and a metal ruler you can cut two 10 cm strips from the roll, or whatever width you need, following the printed squares on the back paper. Cut before you remove the liner: the PVC stays more stable and the edge comes out clean.
Can it be peeled off later?
A PVC adhesive is made to stay. When peeled off it can leave adhesive residue or take some varnish with it, especially on recently varnished surfaces. Before covering the whole frame, test a hidden corner to see how it behaves.
Is the spatula included?
The yellow spatula appears in the photos next to the rolls, but the supplier does not include it in the contents, so we cannot guarantee it. A hand is enough to spread the strip, or use a soft spatula or a plastic card wrapped in a cloth, so as not to mark the surface.
Can it also be used on furniture?
Yes, the supplier also shows it on cupboard doors, desks and kitchen furniture. The 20 cm width covers strips, edges and narrow shelves with one piece; for wider surfaces, join several strips following the grain, so the join shows less.
How do I clean it?
With a soft, slightly damp cloth and, if needed, a drop of mild detergent; then dry. Avoid abrasive sponges, solvents and alcohol, which can leave the surface dull or make the edges lift. Wipe in the direction of the edges, not against them.
