Self-adhesive coving: size and material

Each roll is 14 cm wide and 2.3 m long: the supplier shows both measurements in a diagram, and the length is also in the title. One roll covers about 0.32 m² and is enough for 2.3 m of edge. The material given in the listing is PVC, and in the photos the surface has an embossed grain with grooves along the strip. The supplier does not state the thickness. To work out how many rolls you need, measure the perimeter you want to cover and divide it by 2.3 m: a room measuring 4 × 3 m has a perimeter of 14 m, so you need at least 7 rolls.

How to fit self-adhesive ceiling coving

The supplier gives a self-adhesive installation but does not describe the back and gives no written instructions. The photos show the strip being unrolled and pressed by hand along the edge between wall and ceiling. Prepare a clean, dry, smooth surface, mark a guide line with a spirit level, cut the length you need with a craft knife and ruler, and press the strip from the centre towards the ends. At corners, the photos show the strip bent into an L. An honest tip: an adhesive can take some paint off when peeled.

Five colours for ceiling coving

The strip has a white embossed base. In the photos, the colour of the variants affects the lines: light blue with light blue lines, grey with grey lines, gold with gold lines and black with black lines; in the white variant the strip is all white. The listing does not describe the colours, so we have read them from the photos. White gives an even strip, while grey, gold, black or light blue lines define its profile. Real colour may differ from what you see on screen, because of the light and the screen itself.

The supplier's photos show the strip along the edge between wall and ceiling and at corners, bent into an L to follow a corner. The listing states that the product is not waterproof, and the photos show only indoor settings: we consider it suitable for dry indoor rooms. A flat surface is needed for the adhesive to grip. The lines of colour stand out against light walls. If the room needs more rolls, fit them without leaving gaps and check that the lines line up at the join.

Can it be used outdoors?
