Wall quote sticker: size and material

The bag contains one 70 × 25 cm sheet. On the sheet, the lines are packed close together, so they do not yet have their final layout. Once applied following the composition in the photos, the text is about 60 cm wide and 45 cm high. The material is PVC, with an adhesive back. There is only one colour, black, for the letters, twigs and butterflies. The bag measures 25 × 70 cm and is 0.2 cm thick. Before ordering, measure your wall: on a desk 100 or 120 cm long, a text 60 cm wide leaves space at each side and sits well centred.

How to apply the wall quote sticker

The wall must be wiped with a dry cloth and be smooth, free of dust and damp. Cut the lines apart with scissors, leaving a small margin around the letters, and place them on the wall with a little masking tape, following the photo: the title at the top, then the phrases one below the other, with the twigs and butterflies in the gaps. A pencil line drawn with a spirit level helps keep the lines straight. Then peel one line at a time from the backing and press it from the centre outwards. In the photo, the text is centred over a wooden desk, at a comfortable height for reading. Bear in mind that when you remove a sticker, it can take some paint with it, especially if the paint is delicate or recent.

Black on a light wall: the look of the sticker

The lines alternate a serif typeface with a larger italic used for key words, giving the effect of a handwritten note. The title is accompanied by two twigs, while the butterflies are spread between the phrases. You can follow the layout in the photo or move them a little. Black reads well on white, cream or light grey walls, such as the one above the desk with the laptop. On a dark wall, the contrast is lost. The text is in English only. Where to use the wall quote sticker

The photos show it on a desk, in a study corner with a pendant lamp, and above a black side table with a vase of flowers. It also works well in the bedroom, above the headboard, in a hallway or beside a bookshelf. The supplier lists it for walls, tiles, furniture, windows and fridges, but in practice you need a smooth, clean surface. On rough walls or walls with coarse-textured plaster, the thin letters struggle to stick. The supplier states that it is not water-resistant, so avoid bathrooms with a shower and areas near the sink. On the grey wall in the photo, the black stays readable, with softer contrast.

What does the phrase mean?

The title “Things to remember” means “things to keep in mind”. Five phrases follow, meaning: tomorrow is a new day; making mistakes is part of life; it is fine to say when something is not OK; you do not have to be liked by everyone; beauty and strength come from within. Please note: in the photos, the second phrase appears to read “Part of like” instead of “Part of life”.

Does the sheet arrive already assembled as in the photos?

No. On the 70 × 25 cm sheet, the phrases are packed together to take up less space. You cut them apart with scissors and arrange them on the wall, one line below another, until you reach about 60 × 45 cm. This also lets you spread the composition a little or move the butterflies.

Can it be applied to furniture or a fridge?

Yes. The supplier also lists furniture, tiles, glass and fridges. You need a smooth, clean and dry surface, so degrease it before applying. On untreated wood, fabric or rough surfaces, the adhesive grips poorly. On curved surfaces, by contrast, long lines are harder to keep straight.

Can it be removed without damaging the wall?

The adhesive is made to stay put. When you remove it, go slowly and keep it close to the wall. It can take some paint with it or leave residue, especially on walls painted recently. Once peeled off, the thin letters are unlikely to stick again, so test the position with masking tape before you place them.
