On the back is the adhesive: you remove the protective paper and place the vinyl, without glue. Choose from ten colours, glossy or matt, and from four formats: 40, 60 or 80 cm wide and 3 or 5 m long. The declared thickness ranges from 0.26 to 0.39 mm.

Furniture vinyl wrap lacquer effect: sizes and material

The vinyl is PVC, a thin layer with a thickness declared by the supplier of between 0.26 and 0.39 mm. There are four formats: 40 cm × 5 m (about 2 m²), 60 cm × 3 m (about 1.8 m²), 60 cm × 5 m (about 3 m²) and 80 cm × 3 m (about 2.4 m²). These are theoretical surfaces, before trimming. The supplier warns that if you order more units, the metres arrive on a single roll: two 3 m units become one 6 m roll, not two separate rolls. For a larger job it is best to order everything together, so the colour is the same on every section.

How to apply the furniture vinyl wrap

The adhesive back is covered by protective paper: in the supplier's photos the paper has a numbered grid that helps you measure and cut. Clean and degrease the surface well, dry it and, if you can, remove handles and hinges. Cut the vinyl a few centimetres larger, peel off the paper slowly and press from the centre towards the edges with a soft cloth or a plastic spatula. If a bubble remains, you can prick it with a fine needle and push the air towards the hole. Trim the excess with a craft knife. An honest tip: on painted surfaces the adhesive may take some paint with it when removed, and glossy vinyl shows any flaws in the furniture underneath.

Ten vinyl colours, glossy or matt: how to choose

Pure black and white come in both glossy and matt. Grey comes in light matt, or in glossy. Pink, red, champagne and light blue are glossy. Gloss reflects light, gives the lacquer effect and shows up every small irregularity; matt is more discreet and better hides flaws. The colour on your screen may look a little different from the real roll: if you are unsure about light tones, such as white and champagne, compare them with the doors you want to cover. If you need several rolls, always choose the same colour and finish.

Where to use furniture vinyl wrap in the kitchen

This is a sheet for furniture, for decorative use. In the photos it is applied to the doors of two kitchens, one pink and one black, and to a small black unit. It can be used on doors, drawers, side panels and shelves with a smooth surface, to change the colour without replacing the furniture. Do not use it in contact with the oven, hobs or burners: the supplier's data sheet does not state heat resistance. On doors with deep relief or moulded panels, thin vinyl does not follow the shape well: flat surfaces are better.

Ornawall
Light grey matt / 80 cm × 3 The lengths are 1, 2, 3 and 5 m, so the covered area is 0.4 m², 0.8 m², 1.2 m² and 2 m². The print imitates wood grain: it is an effect, not real wood. On the back there are grid lines to measure and to cut with household scissors. The roll is wound onto an inner tube to reduce creases. The supplier gives a measuring tolerance of up to 2.5 cm and does not state the thickness.

How to apply the self-adhesive vinyl

The supplier gives four steps. Clean the surface of dust and debris, and cut the vinyl 10-15 mm larger than the surface. Then press the vinyl from the centre outwards, peeling off the backing paper slowly. If bubbles remain, the supplier advises pricking them with a needle or the tip of a knife. To separate the paper, a strip of adhesive tape on both edges can help, pulling in opposite directions. The surface must be smooth and dry; dusty, brick or unevenly textured walls are not recommended. On the back there is an adhesive layer covered by paper: you peel it off slowly and stick the vinyl onto a smooth, clean and dry surface, such as a worktop, a door or the side of a unit. It is measured and cut with scissors or a craft knife. The only model available is 01.

Marble effect vinyl wrap 60 cm: sizes and material

The roll is 60 cm wide and you choose 1, 5 or 10 metres long. With these lengths you cover about 0.6 m² (1 m), 3 m² (5 m) or 6 m² (10 m), not counting trimmings or overlaps. The material is PVC: a vinyl with a print that imitates marble and, on the back, the adhesive layer covered by paper. The supplier does not state the thickness, so we do not write it.

To work out how much you need, measure the surface and add a few centimetres per side: the final trim is made after fitting. If the surface is wider than 60 cm, plan two strips side by side and align the veins carefully.

How to apply the self-adhesive vinyl

Fitting follows the supplier's steps: measure and cut the vinyl, remove the paper and stick, smooth with your hand, align the strips and trim the excess. The surface must be smooth, clean and dry. The supplier advises against rough or uneven surfaces, such as relief plaster or exposed stone.

Remove the paper only a few centimetres at a time and press from the centre towards the edges, so the air escapes and fewer bubbles form. If you fit several strips, first draw a reference line with a spirit level. An honest tip: the adhesive is made to stay and, when removed, it may take some paint or varnish with it, especially if the surface was treated recently.

Marble effect vinyl in a single model

This roll comes in one model only, 01: a glossy white in the photos, with marble veins that are only faintly hinted at. Colours and veins may look a little different on screen than in reality.

If you need several rolls for the same surface, order them together: the supplier advises buying everything you need at once, so the rolls come from the same batch and there is no difference in tone between one piece and another.

Where to use marble effect vinyl

The supplier indicates it for walls, furniture and drawers, worktops, shelves, ledges, wardrobe shelves, windows and larders.
