Hexagonal polyester fibre panels, 8 mm thick, sold in packs of 6, 12 or 18 pieces of the same colour and shape. You can choose the small hexagon, 30 × 26 cm, or the large one, 36 × 31.5 cm, in six colours: dark brown, camel, silver grey, dark grey, black and snow white. They are fixed with double-sided tape, glue or screws, and cut with a craft knife.

Hexagon acoustic panel: dimensions and material

The small hexagon measures 30 cm point to point and 26 cm side to side, with a side of 15 cm. The large one measures 36 × 31.5 cm, with a side of 18 cm. Both are 0.8 cm thick, are made of polyester fibre and have edges bevelled at 45°. The supplier states a tolerance of 1-2 mm on the measurements.

Covered area, calculated from the dimensions: one small hexagon covers about 0.058 m², so 6 pieces cover 0.35 m², 12 pieces 0.70 m² and 18 pieces 1.05 m². One large hexagon covers about 0.084 m²: 6 pieces cover 0.50 m², 12 pieces about 1 m² and 18 pieces about 1.5 m².

How to mount the hexagon acoustic panels

For fixing the panels, the supplier lists four methods: double-sided tape, mounting adhesive, spray adhesive, or screws and nails. Before fitting them, clean the wall and let it dry; then draw a pencil line with a spirit level and start from the centre of the layout, placing the hexagons side by side. Polyester fibre is cut with a sharp craft knife and a metal ruler, which is useful for the last row beside corners, sockets or the ceiling. Bear in mind that glue and double-sided tape, when peeled off, can take some paint with them. If you plan to move the arrangement, fix it first to a thin board, then hang the board.

Two sizes and six colours: how to build the wall

The small hexagon makes a denser mosaic, suited to narrow walls or an arrangement above the desk; the large one covers more surface with fewer pieces. The colours run from snow white to black, through silver grey with a flecked surface, dark grey, camel and dark brown. You can alternate two similar shades, such as silver grey and dark grey, or leave some gaps between hexagons for a honeycomb design. Each pack contains pieces of one colour and one shape. The supplier warns that there may be a slight difference in tone between batches: order pieces of the same colour together.

Where to use the 8 mm acoustic panels

In a room with many hard surfaces, such as floors, glass and smooth walls, voices bounce back and create echo. Polyester fibre panels absorb part of those reflections, which reduces echo and reverberation: they are used behind a home office desk, above a bed headboard or behind the sofa, and black on a light wall creates a strong contrast. Two honest points. At 8 mm thick, the sound absorption effect is limited: the supplier also says so, and for a stronger acoustic treatment it suggests thicknesses of 10-12 mm. And one acoustic panel improves the acoustics inside the room, but it does not stop noise from the neighbours or from the street.

Ten acoustic slats of polyester fibre, 120 × 20 cm each, in green. They have cut-outs halfway up and slot into one another: once assembled, they form a square grid of 120 × 120 cm and 20 cm high, for hanging from the ceiling with cables. The slats have holes already prepared for suspension. The cables and ceiling anchors are not included in the pack contents.

Acoustic ceiling panels (baffles): dimensions and material

The pack contains 10 slats of 120 cm long and 20 cm high, with rounded corners at the ends: in the photo of the assembled grid there are five in each direction. The supplier states the material is high-density felt of polyester fibre, in an aqua green tone. Slotted together, the slats form a 120 × 120 cm grid: on the ceiling it therefore occupies 1.44 m², with a depth of 20 cm plus the length of the cables. Each slat has 0.24 m² of surface per side. The thickness and weight are not stated: if you need them to choose the anchors, contact us before ordering.

How to assemble the baffle grid

Assembly takes place in two stages. First you put together the grid: the slats have cut-outs halfway up, and those in one direction slide into the slots of those in the other, one after another. Then you hang it: near the edge of the slats there are holes already prepared for the suspension cables, as you can see in the detail photo. The supplier mentions screws as included, but not cables or ceiling anchors: get a suspension kit with cable suitable for your ceiling. Before drilling, check that no pipes or electric cables run through the chosen point, and on plasterboard use specific anchors. If you have no experience, use an installer.

A green felt grid with a coffered look

Assembled, the grid draws a pattern of regular squares under the ceiling, similar to a coffered false ceiling but open. From below you see mainly the edges of the slats, while from the side the solid faces show. The only colour available is green, which in the photos has an aqua tone, with the matt look of felt. It goes well with white ceilings, light wood and plants, and brings some colour to a neutral space. In a large ceiling you can hang several grids in a row or staggered, leaving a few centimetres between them. The tone may vary slightly from one screen to another.

Where to use acoustic ceiling panels

In a space with a high ceiling and hard surfaces, such as concrete, glass and tiles, voices bounce back and create echo. The polyester fibre slats absorb part of those reflections and, hung vertically, expose both faces to the air. That is why baffles are used in open-plan offices, meeting rooms, restaurants, lobbies and double-height living rooms, where there is no room for wall panels. The 10 slats in the pack form a grid; the cables to hang it are bought separately. Each panel is a square of about 30 cm per side (30.5 cm) and 9 mm thick. The material is polyester fibre, a synthetic felt that is cut with a craft knife. On the visible face there are parallel vertical grooves that divide the square into regular stripes. One panel covers about 0.09 m², and the 12 panels together about 1.1 m²: for example, a rectangle of 4 panels by 3, about 122 cm wide and 92 cm high. For larger areas, you can order more packs of the same colour.

How to fit self-adhesive acoustic wall panels

The back of each panel is adhesive and protected by paper that peels off, as shown in the photo. Fitting takes four steps:

clean and dry the wall;

remove the protective paper from the back;

place the panel and press firmly over the whole surface;

if needed, trim the last row with a craft knife.

To keep the grooves straight, draw a pencil line with a spirit level and check that all rows run in the same direction. The adhesive grips better on smooth walls, free of dust and damp. An honest tip: a strong adhesive can take some paint off when you peel it away. If you plan to move the panels, first stick them to a thin board.

White, silver grey or black: the striped effect

The grooves create a slatted effect that recalls modern wall panelling, without any carpentry work. With all the stripes vertical you get a continuous surface that gives a sense of height; if you alternate a vertical panel with a horizontal one, you create a checkerboard pattern instead. White blends with light walls and shows mainly the relief. Silver grey is a neutral, flecked grey, as in the main photo. Black creates a strong contrast on white walls or next to light wood. Each pack contains 12 panels of the same colour: for a two-colour composition you need two packs.

Where to use square acoustic wall panels

In a room with many hard surfaces, such as floors, glass and smooth walls, voices bounce back and create echo. Polyester fibre panels absorb part of those reflections, which reduces echo and reverberation: that is why they are placed behind a home office desk, above a bed headboard, behind the sofa or on the TV wall. If you want them on the ceiling, bear in mind that weight pulls downwards: it is advisable to strengthen the adhesive on the back with mounting adhesive. One important point: an acoustic panel improves the acoustics inside the room, but it does not stop noise from the neighbours or from the street. If your problem is noise coming from outside, other materials and building work are needed.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1004/7435/6045/files/Scc082f49638e443ca18430b1541efd1aa.webp?v=1793449268
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1004/7435/6045/collections/Seb34827d693241bb9e18e443eded75646.webp?v=1793438527
